Rory Donovan

I am a music producer and songwriter from Brisbane, Australia. I work over a broad range of genres including Dance, Techno, House and Rock. After being awarded a Scholarship to attend university, I have been studying a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and plan to complete my Undergraduate Degree in 2024. Through my tertiary study, I have been learning the art of music production and songwriting methodology, spending my time in the studios to hone my skills. 

Since managing my position as Studio Coordinator at Vermilion Records (QUT’s student record label), I have been working with many interstate and Queensland based artists. Producing and playing alongside many musicians over Brisbane and have frequently played as a guitarist and pianist at live gigs and studio sessions.

Although I favour louder forms of music like Club and Rock music, I have a long history with classical and orchestral music forms. Having composed for the Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) and toured internationally with an Orchestra to Japan in my younger years. Symphonic sounds are very familiar to me and have helped to inform my musical compositions - whether it be for a film, a club or a dance festival. 

Recently, I have been focusing extensively on House and Techno Dance music. In the coming year, I plan to start DJing my music to dance crowds and in clubs.
